The Raptor CDP (Customer Data Platform) can be integrated with Google Display & Video 360. This is how you establish such an integration.
Setting up the Google Display & Video 360 Activation
- In the Activations-menu, select Create new Activation and select 'Google Display & Video 360' from the Advertising section.
- Fill in the basic information. A name is mandatory, a description is optional but encouraged. You must also select a Person Identifier - however, since this Activation is part of the Google ecosystem, multiple identifiers is an option. As such, you can check 1 or 2 in the drop-down menu. Any can be used, but keep in mind that they need to map onto Email and/or Phone Number.
- In the next step, you must fill in the necessary information to link to the relevant Google Account - specifically, the ClientID and ClientSecret. This is, unfortunately, not a simple matter, but there's a potential shortcut - if you have already set up an Activation for GoogleAds/YouTube, you can use the same GoogleCloud project and IDs, and simply copy the codes from that Activation. In this case, the only thing needed in this step is to go through step 3c-3d beneath - enabling the DV360 API - you can skip the rest. If you don't have a preexisting GoogleAds activation, then please follow all the steps...
- Go to your Google Cloud Platform here: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/dashboard?
- Click the dropdown menu Select a project and click New project in the top right corner of the pop-up. Give your project a name (such as CDP Raptor), select a location (not mandatory), and click Create. Finally, click the dropdown menu (see step 2) and Select the project you just created. Click Open in the bottom right corner.
- Go to the following link: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/api/displayvideo.googleapis.com
- In the drop-down menu besides “Google Cloud Platform”, choose the project you just made - “CDP Raptor” - if it isn't set already. Now, just click big “Enable” button.
- Go to the following site: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/ and click on Oauth consent screen in the menu to the left, choose the user type External and click Create.
- Under "App Information" you write the following:
- App name: Raptor CDP
- User Support mail: Click the e-mail in the dropdown
- Now scroll down to "Developer contact information" in the bottom and fill in Email address: ps@raptor.dk and {your e-mail}
- Click Save and continue - You do not need to add any information in the Scopes, Test Users or Summary sections. Just click Save and continue at the bottom to move through each, finishing with Back to dashboard on the final page. Finally, on the dashboad, make sure you click the Publish app button under "Publishing status”.
- Now you can create the required Credentials. Just select Credentials in the menu-bar on the left, then click on +Create Credentials at the top. Finally, select OAuth Client ID from the dropdown menu.
- For Application Type, select Web application, and give it a name. The recommended name is Raptor CDP. You also need to fill out the Authorized redirect URLs field, with the following address: https://developers.google.com/oauthplayground
- Click on Create - a popup will now appear with your OAuth Client Credentials. Copy down the Client ID and Client Secret - you can paste these directly into the Activation Creator, but you will also need them for the next step...
- Next, you will need a RefreshToken. Keep in mind that even if you have an existing GoogleAds/YouTube Activation, the RefreshToken will not be the same and cannot be reused.
- Start by going to the OAuth 2.0 Playground using THIS specific link, which will pre-set many key options for you.
- In the Configuration-box on the right, fill in the Client ID and Client Secret you obtained at the end of Step 3.
- Now, on the left, click on the Authorize APIs button. A warning will pop up - don't worry, it's safe. Just click on 'Advanced Settings', followed by the now-revealed Go to Raptor CDP (unsafe) option. An additional warning will appear, just click 'Continue' to proceed.
- You will now - finally - arrive at the Exchange authorization code for tokens step. Click on the blue button of the same name to get the Refresh Token at long last - simply copy it into the Activation Creator.
- With these three fields filled, two remain. One is the Mapped Identifiers - here, you must simply align the Person Identifiers you selected in Step 2, with Email and/or Phone Number. The AdvertiserID is slightly more complicated, but can be found with relative ease in your Google Display & Video 360 Account.
- Log into Google Display & Video 360 using your Google ID. From the resulting Overview, select 'Advertisers' in the sidebar to navigate to the Advertiser List.
- Here, you simply select the relevant Advertiser from the list. This will take you to the Campaign Overview. The ID will be listed right next to the Advertiser's campaign.
If you have not yet created a Campaign, you will need to do so. See Google's own help-system for instructions on how to do so.
- Once you have filled in all the fields, simply select 'Validate' to confirm that all of them check out. This will then take you to the final step, where you select which Audiences you wish to link to the Google Display & Video 360 campaign. Keep in mind that you can add more later as needed. Finally, simply Save the Activation - it will take a few minutes to move through the system and fully engage.
🔍 Note: If you delete the linked Audience from Raptor's systems, the relevant Userlist will also be removed from the Google-account.
