This article will show you how to enable Behavioral Triggers for your product feeds and go through what is required of your product feed for some of the triggers to work correctly.
How are triggers set up?
For some Behavioral Triggers to work correctly, the Raptor system will watch your product feeds for changes in certain fields. A change will send an event internally in Raptor's system, and depending on how the Behavioral Trigger is configured, the event will cause the Trigger to be fired to start your trigger flow.
A connection between your product feed and the following Behavioral Triggers must be established for the triggers to work correctly:
- Price Drop Trigger: When changes are spotted in the field "OnSalePrice" on a product, the trigger will be alerted. The rules in the trigger will determine who will get a trigger mail e.g., "if price has dropped at least 10 percent, send to customers who visited the product at least twice at full price"
- Back on Stock Trigger: Changes from False to True in the field "InStock" will alert the trigger. In the Data Manager, the information you deliver in the InStock field is converted to a True/False boolean. The rules in the trigger will determine who will get a trigger mail e.g., "send to customers who visited the product at least twice while not in stock"
- Campaign Trigger (not available yet): The system will look in a predefined CustomField in the product feed. Here, it will look for changes (e.g., from empty to a value, from one value to another value). In the trigger configuration, you will decide who gets a trigger mail under which conditions e.g., "if the value of the field changes from empty to 'Get 3 pay for two', send to customers who visited the product at least twice"
The Abandoned Basket Trigger and the Product/Brand/Category Interest Triggers do not require product feed events.
How to enable the trigger events
You need to enable price drop events, stock events, and campaign events on the product feed that Behavioral Triggers should react to. This is how to do it:
- Log in to the Raptor Control Panel
- Navigate to Behavioral Triggers
- Click the "Edit trigger events"-button in the top right corner
- Now you'll see an overview of all your product feeds and which trigger events are enabled on which feeds. In addition, you can see which CustomField the Campaign Trigger reacts to
- For editing the trigger events, click the pencil symbol on the feed you wish to configure
- Now, you can enable the desired trigger events (depending on which Behavioral Triggers you intend to use). When enabling the Campaign event, you must select the field in which you provide information about ongoing campaigns (CustomField1 through CustomField20)
- Click "Save"
